Yoga Training- I used to be an addict! All my friends and family members started abusing me for getting so much addicted to alcohol and drugs. In fact, I tried to kill myself several times. I wanted to pull myself out of this addiction, but cravings for having drugs were so bad that I was forced to taste it again and again. My family even booked a rehab center for me to help me out, but it didn’t work much for me.
But, now, the scenario has been changed! People meeting me after a decade would hardly recognize me. Yes, it’s reality! If you are wondering that how things worked for me, then here’s the answer!
A friend of mine is to be given the whole credit! He asked me to have a trip to India. I was not so much interested, but he booked my flight tickets along with him and the new phase of life started.
After a few weeks of visiting India, we went to Rishikesh. We found that every second person visiting the place was interested to learn yoga. We also decided to give the art a try.
When hoped to a yoga school, I was guided to join Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga training. In the beginning, I found practicing various asanas a cumbersome task. But, as time passes, I found myself immersed in the practice of yoga.
Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga training helped me control my cravings. The practice of yoga not only helped me control my emotions but also helped me recover from the addiction to alcohol and drugs.
Learning I Had During Ashtanga Yoga Training in Rishikesh
When I attended the first class, I found it not much interested (frankly speaking!). But, in a few days of sessions, I found myself smiling and sharing thoughts with others.
During the Ashtanga yoga training, I learned about:
- 8 Limbs of Yoga: Yamas, Niyamas, Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharna, Dhyana, and Samadhi.
- I practiced various asanas as per my yoga level.
- Meditation was the best part of the training and helped me relax my senses.
- Apart from learning yoga, I enjoyed various other activities like karma yoga, yajya, various yoga activities, and nature visits.
- I also learned about mindful eating and made many friends.
The overall experience of learning yoga in Rishikesh was awe-inspiring and life-changing for me.
